Rick Wagoner is a Douche Bag
I was going to take alot of time and explain why I felt this way. Overall any guy that takes a multi million dollar bonus, builds cars that people don't want, and then blames his personal failures and his boards failures on his employess is a douche bag. In an age where Honda and Toyota employ more American workers than ever before, and American companies are more than happy to ship our jobs elsewhere how dare GM pretend that the problem is with the American people and their wages or healthcare costs. Honda and Toyota seem to do just fine employing Americans and providing these benefits.
The problem is greed and bad management. The problem is that you're building over priced cars/trucks that suck compared to your foreign competition. The problem is that you're not employing the most skilled workers in the world to build all of the components in your cars. Sure you employ some Americans and can boast numbers that make us think you give a damn, but I urge consumers to consider that numbers are always relational. You're a big compnay, of course you have lots of workers and some of them are American. In case you weren't sure who the most skilled workers are Rick those workers are Americans. Yes please give me an underpowered malibu instead of a Nissan Maxima for about the same money... I want the car that handles like an old man not the one that handles well. I want the one that generates less horsepower... Anyway, Rick Wagoner not only is unamerican through his actions, but a poor, unresponsive CEO and he should be fired before GM goes bankrupt. How can you charge almost as much for a car made by GM as Nissan after building the Vega or the Chevette. GM doesn't have the reputation with cars to do that. Even when they do make good stuff they're usually gas guzzling tanks in comparison with many other cars/trucks in their class. It's time for GM to reduce the cost of their cars, employ Americans again, and fire this douche bag. Rick does get one award from me. My one finger, get the hell out of the US salute. How dare you take a bonus when your company is in so much trouble? Ford didn't do that. Anyway, if Rick can't bring himself to treat the people of this great nation with the respect that they deserve, including his employees, then he doesn't deserve our business and therefore GM doesn't deserve our business as long as he's at the helm. He also does not deserve to call his company an American company. Let's be honest Rick under your leadership, and some other choice assholes before you, GM is becoming about as American as RCA is today. GM does make some good vehicles but they need to be more realistic about their leadership and their prices. Domestic cars should not cost as much, or even close to as much, as imports. They should be of the same quality as your Japanese competition and you should employ Americans to make them or be honest about what country your loyalities lie with. I know I'm not supposed to draw comparisons like that because when you look at alliegance from a financial standpoint the Bush family really tends to be Saudi Arabian, and old Rick here is probably Mexican, but the truth is Rick is not interested in building cars, just making money off of them or at least that's what his actions indicate. God I can't wait to stop fixing my old GM and buy a Honda, maybe I'll actually be able to drive it more than work on it after 100k miles. What do you think Rick? At least I'll be putting Americans to work.
